If you're anything like me then you probably look for any help you can get when you're out on the golf course. Aeris Golf is a handy mobile golf companion that uses GPS to guide you through your rounds.
Before you start playing you need to register online (see link below) for a free account with Aeris Golf. Once the app is installed and you're signed-in, you can only start using it once you've downloaded course data. There is a fairly wide selection of courses available, but there is one problem - they are all in Spain. The developer does stress on its site that if your course isn't included on the list they will add it, but there are no signs of this system coming into effect as yet.
If you are intending to play on a Spanish golf course though, you'll find Aeris Golf to be a big help. The program displays detailed aerial photos of every hole on each course, along with annotations explaining distances and pointing out obstacles. You can set your handicap and average club striking distances to help the program give you pointers and keep a track of your rounds.
Perhaps the best thing about the program is its GPS capabilities, which help you find your way around the course effortlessly. Even if you don't have GPS installed, you can use your Bluetooth connection to simulate the same effect.
If you're planning a golfing trip in Spain then Aeris Golf is well worth installing.
